Social Events and Excursion
Welcome Reception
All registrants are invited to the Welcome Reception which will be held at the Big Tent Plaza, the open space by the venue on Monday evening, May 31. Welcome Reception is free of charge.
Banquet
The Conference Banquet will be held on Thursday evening, June 3, at the ANA Hotel Clement Takamatsu. Please dress informally. Banquet is included in the Regular Registration fee and additional ticket can be purchased at the registration desk.

Excursion
Thursday afternoon (June 3) will be left open for attendees to see some of the sights in Takamatsu and their vicinities. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the town of Takamatsu or to participate in organized tours (at reduced costs) to visit nearby spots of natural and scientific interests.
The Conference Banquet will follow this afternoon on Thursday evening.
Both tours depart from the conference venue at 12:30, and also lunch is included.
Course A (A tour to Syohdo-Shima island)
| Gozafune Ship You can appreciate the feeling of "Daimyo", feudal lords in Edo period (1603 - 1868), through the luxurious cruise. Legend has it that the lords competed with each other to show how beautiful their ships are, while they sailed to Edo (current Tokyo) for the "Sankin-Koutai" system (an obligation imposed by Edo shogunates). |

| Nijushinohitomi Eigamura ( Twenty-four Eyes Movie Village) The movie “Nijushinohitomi (Twenty-four Eyes)” was filmed here in 1986, and the original film set has been preserved in this Twenty-four Eyes Movie Village. Visitors may enjoy a historic experience as if they traveled back in time to the early Showa period (1926-1989). |

| Marukin Shoyu Museum The history of soy sauce and the process of produce are introduced here. The rafter roof of this museum is recognized as National tangible cultural asset. Souvenirs and the products of Shodoshima Island are sold here. |

Course B (B tour to Konpira Shrine)
| Experience of making Udon Noodles The chefs teach you how to make Sanuki Udon Noodles. You knead flour for the udon noodles and roll it with a pin to make dough. After cutting the dough and boiling them, you may eat your own making udon noodles |

| Kanamaru-za, Kabuki theater Kamanaruza, the oldest extant kabuki theater in Japan, was established in 1835. This theater has been recognized as one of Japan’s important cultural sites. Each spring a play is performed here by popular kabuki actors. Visitors may go the backstage and see the trap cellar unless events are being held in the theater. |

| Konpira Shrine Konpira Shrine, honors the spiritual guardian of seafarers, has been a place of faith for many years. Even now, millions of worshippers visit the shrine every year. There are 785 stone steps to climb before you reach the main shrine, and both sides of the steps are lined with souvenir shops. |
